Not so long ago, Xiaomi introduced new wireless headphones to the global market – Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro. In comparison with the previous model, this pair has undergone qualitative changes and is already in a hurry to be called “folk”. Let’s see how she so hooked music lovers.
Specifications and equipment
The brand new Redmi Buds 3 Pro came to me in a box with a nice minimalistic design. I’m sure part lovers will love that the cable and ear cushions have their own packaging.

- USB Type-C charging cable

The charging case is plastic, but not such that it will fall apart after a week of active use. The developers took care and made it durable and at the same time compact, you can safely put it in your jeans pocket. There is a light bulb on the front of the box. It lights up if the case or headphones are charging. This is a handy option that will always make it clear that something is wrong with the outlet, cable or headphones.
Also on the front there is a button for connecting to a second device. Yes, Redmi Buds 3 Pro can be connected to two different devices at the same time, such as a phone and a laptop. At the bottom of the box is the connector for the charging cable.
According to my feelings, the case opens and closes easily. But he holds the headphones well, they did not fall out by chance.
Redmi Buds 3 Pro supports wireless charging. If you don’t have a “native” one at hand, then you can take any one that has a Qi certificate. It seemed pretty convenient to me. And not all TWS headphones have this option.
The very pair of headphones resembles two “droplets”. The developers tried to make the new model prettier, added gloss. But here, they did not forget about our comfort, Redmi Buds 3 Pro has the famous apple function – they react to movements. If you remove the headphones, the music stops playing. As soon as you insert the “droplets” into your ears again, playback will continue. In practice, the function works well, I have not noticed any unpleasant hangs.
Ergonomics and control
I tried to connect Redmi Buds 3 Pro to Xiaomi smartphone. In a few seconds, he recognized them and immediately offered to connect. Then you can see how much charging is left, with each earphone separately and in the case when the pair is in it.
You can connect to other phones via Bluetooth. The AAC codec already helps here. And there is another new and nice option – when Bluetooth is active, the headphones can be found in case of loss.
I liked the way the Redmi Buds 3 Pro sit in my ears. In my opinion, it is better than the previous Xiaomi model. And if you consider that there are no additional mounts here, then the ergonomics are generally very successful. If your headphones fall out of your ears or you feel uncomfortable in them, try changing the ear pads, choosing the right size.
The control of the Redmi Buds 3 Pro is sensor-based. But there is no single touch option, so you won’t be able to accidentally press and turn off the music, or drop the call.
|Two clicks||Play / pause or answer a call|
|Three clicks on the right earpiece||Next track|
|Three clicks on the left earpiece||Previous track|
|Hold on any earphone||Enable / Disable Noise Cancellation|
The control of Redmi Buds 3 Pro is intuitive. Everything is quickly remembered, the “droplets” respond well to touch, do not freeze. Again, Xiaomi this time tried to release wireless headphones for the person who uses them every day.
There is protection against water and dust. But I think if a few drops get on the headphones, it will help. But I would not dare to swim in them, they may not survive.
The Redmi Buds 3 Pro does not have an app where you can do more fine-tuning. In general, this does not bother me, but if you are used to and want to change more options, then this will be a minus. Although the developers promise to correct the situation soon.
Sound Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro
Now for the sound. I listen to music often and different. Of course, I cannot call myself a professional in this area, but a good amateur – yes. And Redmi Buds 3 Pro sounding good and even with a plus. The sound is balanced, smooth, and details are heard across the entire range. I will definitely note the bass, they are deep, and for this type of wireless headphones this is a rarity. The middle ones are also flat. But the high ones, maybe, can be raised.
The only thing I didn’t really like was the volume. She is weak, although the reason may be in the phone.
How does the Redmi Buds 3 Pro headset perform worse. In the silence, you can hear everything well – both me and the subscriber. But if you try to talk on the street, then there are already problems, the sound quality is lost. If you want headphones that can often be used as a headset, then I would look for another model.
The company announces dual noise-canceling technology with feedback and feedforward microphones. That is, ANC now allows you to remove noise up to 98%. Plus it is possible to customize the option for yourself and select the mode. For example, to drown out external noises so much as not to hear the subway. Or leave sounds from the outside so that you can listen to music and not miss the remarks of colleagues at work.
What I did in practice. I must say right away that even without activating the noise reduction, the outside world is not particularly audible. Of course, if it’s a relatively calm place. The headphones fit tightly in the ears and unnecessary sounds do not reach so that the music is always heard. Then I tried activating ANC and compared to other Xiaomi headphones that I was able to test, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro really feels like the function works. And my friend did not notice at all the difference between how his noise cancellation works in Sony, and how in my new Redmi, and this also says a lot.
The battery of Redmi Buds 3 Pro works for about 6 hours, if the noise reduction is turned off and the volume is average. With the case, the time will be about 28 hours.
There is a quick charge – 10 minutes I was given somewhere else 3 hours of working headphones. If the “droplets” are completely discharged, then it takes an hour to fully charge. Again, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro has wireless charging. The case is fully charged in 2.5 hours.
The results of the review Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro
The brand new Redmi Buds 3 Pro is proof that Xiaomi can make good headphones for people too. They have a comfortable fit, control, and have cool features – find headphones via Bluetooth, turn on really working noise cancellation, connect to two devices at the same time, or charge the headphones wirelessly. And, of course, decent sound plus battery life. Now let’s look at the price. Considering all these pluses, she’s funny.
The disadvantages I would call the fact that there is no application. And while the headphones work poorly as a headset. But if you are looking for good budget headphones, then Redmi Buds 3 Pro is definitely worth paying attention to, there are much more advantages in them.
